Sessions:
Coaching Session 1: Enrollment and Goal-Setting: In this initial session, the coach focuses on understanding the individual context, environment, students, and goals of the person being coached. Building strong relationships is key here, as it helps identify the starting point for effective coaching.
Coaching Session 2: Virtual Observation/Artifact Review: The coach conducts observations and collects artifacts to assess the practices of the person being coached. This evidence helps the coach align the educator’s needs with specific growth areas and develop tailored action steps. The compiled artifacts inform the coaching intensity and approach.
Coaching Session 3: Feedback: Following the preparation of coaching conversations, the coach will engage with the person being coached to discuss action steps, model practices, and provide constructive feedback. This is where coaches set the direction for improvement and refinement.
Coaching Session 4: Virtual Observation/Artifact Review: In this session, the person being coached showcases their progress by submitting artifacts related to the action steps. The coach reviews these to gauge development, then finalizes the coaching strategy. This review ensures that each coaching conversation is purposeful and targeted.
Coaching Session 5: Feedback: The coach continues the coaching cycle with another round of conversations, in which the coach reinforces action steps, models practices, and offers feedback based on recent observations and artifacts.
Coaching Session 6: Reflection: The final session is dedicated to reflection for both the coach and the person being coached. The Public Impact® coach evaluates the outcomes from the previous sessions to gain insight into future goals and action steps to give to the person being coached, preparing them for continued growth and development.
